The group has been meeting fortnightly since September 2021 at the Community Hub.
It is proving to be an inspiring group of people with many talents.
Bedfield's Art and Craft Club are hosting some exciting workshops at the Community Hub - that are open to all:
3D printing on Wednesday 26th Feb 10am-midday
Our very own local expert, Beckett, will explain the various software used to source and prepare assets to print, how the printer works and the challenges it can pose, as well as the methods used for finishing printed pieces. 3D printed pieces in various stages of completion will be on show to illustrate how errors occur and what finished pieces can look like. Attendees will have the opportunity to decorate and take home some 3D printed Easter eggs that show off the complex designs that the printer is capable of.
Saori Weaving on Wednesday 12 March 10am-midday
Kim, a qualified Saori weaving teacher will give a talk about the philosophy behind Saori weaving, how it began and her journey with Saori. She will show us how the looms work and then give demonstrations on freestyle weaving techniques to create texture and to add a new dimension to our cloth. Then everyone can have a try on the looms and play with freestyle, joyful weaving. There are no rights or wrongs with Saori, we are not following patterns, we are letting go! Saori places more importance on free expression and creativity - ‘the beauty with lack of intention’ resulting from our natural creativity.
Refreshments will be provided at each workshop.
£10 per place per workshop - payable on booking to secure your place. Please contact Jane Sullivan on 07580 386015 or by email on andjes@aol.com
